Magic Books Ad Manager Beta

August 4, 2022 in Articles

We have come to monumental crossroads, everyone!  With the Instant Book SDK packaged up and ready to go, we are working very hard to bring our children’s book version of the Magic Books to production!

Magic Books Promo and Product Catalog Creator

Magic Book Ads!

Today, we have released internal beta version 1.2.7, which includes a payment system, ad creator, and ad manager for brands to support the authors who create the books they love! Once an ad is created, the user can set a general bid, an amount they are willing to pay per click, and set a specific bid for individual books they believe will do well and attract the right kind of audience for their brand.

Authors can also use the app to create there own promos for published books, products, or even their Magic Book.  In coming updates, brands will be able to connect any external API or automation workflow to the “calls to action” in their promos, including registering the engagement on Shopify, Facebook, Instagram, and more.  Peer-to-peer webhooks can also be created to allow engagements to communicate with your Magic Books while you are away!

And remember, these ads are going everywhere as more and more developers integrate our API and start monetizing books in a smarter way.  Which brings me to my next point: we have a very enticing offer for early authors, early direct-advertisers, and early backers of our crowd-funding campaign.

Early Backer Rewards

From now until December, any gift donated to our crowd-funding campaign will reward the early backer with ad unit placements equal to the amount of their contribution.  As we grow and the bids on the space after these books goes up, early backers will have a choice of selling there own ad-units or receiving the payouts from us for an an entire year!  In addition, you will be named one of our core sponsors and incubators for life!

Be sure to give us your email so we can add you to the current test track!  We know you are going to enjoy these Magic Books very much!

Share these wherever you can, and send people here to add their email and test this release!

Carmel Golden Doodle and the Knight Called Lancelot

July 28, 2022 in True Story, User Created Stories, Wikacy Stories

I love this story because it is absolutely true! A modern Don Quixote in so many ways…

Carmel Golden Doodle and Barbara Vokatis’ “Quest for the Lost Children” follows the story of a very special therapy dog and her handler and best friend, self-published author and Professor Barbara Vokatis

In a world where all is broken, they set out with hope to provide the love, attention, and education needed for the next generation in a way which they truly believe will restore right to the world.

They meet many characters along the way, travel to the past, and acquire forgotten knowledge to aid them on their paths in the future.  Two episodes into the series reveals that the wise Merlin had foretold of the coming of this supernatural bond between Barbara and her therapy dog, and had passed a prophecy down to many generations of the coming of the “Warrior of the Golden Orn,” who would usher in the restoration of Camelot in a future era when human kind have all but lost all concepts of chivalry.

Many deep and spine-tingling secrets of literature are embodied in this fantastic portrayal of the very real life and mission of Vokatis and Carmel, who have been visiting children in classrooms regularly for many years.  Recently, they have embarked on a brand new quest with the beta release of the Carmel Therapy Dog App for Android, where they seek to bring children and families, especially their pets, into a new method of learning and community building inspired by the pure nature of animals and our aspiration to be more like them in so many ways, an app with a specific mission of providing true and genuine virtual human support to those who may never have been taught to believe in themselves, and to teach families and educational professions the benefits of dog therapy in schools.

Children’s book authors, teachers, and self-improvemt advocates can join with Carmel and Barabara on their mission to find and nurture all the lost children!

Without revealing too much of the plot,  rest assure that, as in the past, they encounter supernatural help along the way, uncover secret weapons of long forgotten lore — transformed by its keepers into a modern tool of the future, empowering all who believe to pull the sword of division from the hearts of human stone.  And all who join them become convinced of the validity of their quest and truly believe we can rebuild that ancient city of Camelot and witness the return of the once and future king.

Did Jesus Truly Exist?

June 1, 2022 in Articles

Did the man Jesus truly exist?

This is meant to be more of a philosophical analysis than an argument for one side or the other.

Denying the historical existence of the man known as Jesus is a fairly new argument, but one which has gained momentum as millions of people seek to dazzle truth-seeking audiences in order to earn a portion of online ad-revenue. However, a diligent study of documented historical facts reveals that the Rabbinical Jews, who had, by far, the most interest in discrediting early Christianity, never denied the actual existence of the man who caused them so much trouble after his death.

Therefore, from a historical and evidentiary point of view, we can dismiss this new argument without any unwarranted discussion.

As to all the arguments citing historical corruptions of the church, these are all shortsighted attempts to claim the abuse or mis-use of something by corrupt men discredits the original thing. This argument is also, therefore, without merit and warrants no serious discussion regarding the question as to whether the man Jesus truly existed.

We could take every argument one by one (and believe me, I have read and studied them all), or we could skip to the heart of the matter and cite the most compelling evidence of the historical life and ministry of Jesus.

No scholar denies the historical evidence that, of the original 12 apostles who walked with and knew Jesus, 1O of them willfully died excruciating deaths defending, not money or riches, but their belief that Jesus was indeed the Messiah and that he did indeed raise from the dead. The other one, Judas, hung himself after he betrayed the man. These are undeniable, well-documented facts. In addition, there are thousands more, and hundreds of thousands more throughout history who died poor and as martyrs for the defense of the faith.

Now, knowing the nature of human beings, we can conceptualize a random person here and there willing to die for a lie as part of some pathological mental sickness, but not ten of them for the same lie, and especially not for some reason which does not result in worldy riches for them or their posterity, but rather for certain persecution and exile from the rest of society.

Therefore, any person who denies the historical existence of Jesus the Messiah, his death, burial, and resurrection, would have to first give me a good reason the Apostles of Christ were so willing to die for this belief.

Jesus was right when he told them “You shall be my witnesses.”

Knowing the above testimony settles it for me.

Now, having said that, I also want to say that I, above all people, empathize with the person who reads about all the corrupt acts which have been perpetrated by those who have called themselves “Christians” throughout history and therefore doubt anything these people have written.  I understand the great tyranny of information we have all been, and still are, being subjected to.  The world is so full of ideas, Napoleon was right when he said “The honest man is left confused.”  I shudder to think what he would have said if he lived in the age of the internet, when attention-seeking has become the dominant social influence in the mind of the majority of people.

The evils done in the name of established religion, however, are all corruptions of men who came long after Jesus.  We all know people corrupt things. This is actually inline with the original man’s predictions.

If I do something meant for good, and someone corrupts what I said or twists the story, I would appreciate the opportunity to speak for myself, and I am sure you would, too.

So be thorough in your attempts to seek truth.  Be vigilant.  Do not come to hastly conclusions.  Weigh all matters carefully and throughly, and look for the truth, above all, in your own spirit.

A great place to start is with this question: Are we random?

Also, I have included a link to a very informative article below on what happened to the Apostles. It really is fascinating. When reading it, I realize that these men who evangelized the world were, above all, first and foremost, truth-seekers. And it does not surprise me that their mission for the good of the people has been hijacked by the same power-structure which today hijacks all the passions and arts of all people and turns it to the generation of money and wealth.

Anything good, anything which by its power and message draws people to it, will eventually be harnessed by evil in order to utilized it for evil.

But this does not mean that original thing does not exist.

In the end, it may be that the very people “truthseekers” on Youtube and the internet are attacking for their faith in Christ are indeed, still, to this very day, the true seekers of truth.

Moon Landing Hoax Exposed in The Shining

April 22, 2022 in Articles

Stanley Kubrick left clues in The Shining that he was indeed involved in the big government hoax.

Stanley Kubrick planted many clues to the moon landing in The Shining.

The Shining is one of the most popular horror films of all time. The story of the film revolves around Overlook Hotel, where a struggling writer descends into madness over the course of the winter; but apart from the performances and the plot progression of the film, another notable factor which has kept researchers interested in the film is the belief that this was Kubrick’s way of confessing his involvement in the Apollo 11 moon landing hoax.

The theory begins with Kubrick’s 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey that released just one year before America claimed that they had landed their first manned mission on the moon with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

2001: A Space Odyssey released one year prior to the moon landing, leading many to believe that Kubrick was probably involved with the plot to perpetuate this fraud on the world. Various documentaries have pointed out inconsistencies in the video that has since become a historic moment for most of the world, when two astronauts stepped out of Apollo 11. Questions like ‘Who shot the event from outside the capsule?,’ ‘How is the American flag waving?,’ ‘Why do the shadows look like they are the result of multiple light sources?,’ ‘Why is the letter C visible on one of the rocks? (which looks like a prop on a film set)’ have all kept sincere people doubting the authenticity of the event for decades.

And with The Shining, they believed they got their answers. Since Stanley Kubrick had already shot 2001: A Space Odyssey, it was believed that he was hired by the American government to shoot the fake moon landing.

But how does The Shining come in the picture?

There are multiple clues in the Jack Nicholson starrer that point to the fact that Kubrick shot the moon landing and this was his way of confessing it. In the 2012 documentary Room 237, these clues were deeply examined by Jay Weidner.

The Overlook Hotel

The Overlook Hotel, where the events of The Shining take place, is seen as the representation of America. In the beginning of the film, we are told that Overlook Hotel stands on an Indian burial ground. The manager who meets with Jack has an American flag on his table with an eagle looking over them. This is taken as a nod to the ‘Eagle’ which was the name of lunar landing module that carried Apollo 11. It is also assumed that Overlook Hotel represents America with its long brutal history.

The dead twins

The dead twins apparently signify NASA’s failed Gemini mission. The Shining is based on a book by Stephen King, but Kubrick changed a lot of details when he made the movie; and one of those elements is the appearance of the dead twins. In the book, there was a single child, but it is believed that Kubrick used the twins to signify the failed Gemini mission by NASA.

Carpet patterns

The scene that begins from this shot is seen by conspiracy theorists as Kubrick’s confession. In a shot taken from above, we see Danny playing in the corridor on a patterned carpet. The pattern of the carpet is the exact pattern of the Appollo 11 launch pad.

Danny’s Apollo 11 sweater has become iconic mainly due to the fact this moment represents the fake mission. Danny eventually rises up from the carpet, and he is seen wearing a sweater with a rocket with the text Apollo 11. This is seen as the big clue that Kubrick is indeed talking about his involvement with the ‘fake moon landing’ project.

Room 237

Since Stanley Kubrick changed the Room No from 217 to 237, it is believed to be another clue. As Danny rises up from the carpet (seen as launch pad) wearing his sweater (Apollo 11), he enters the dreaded Room 237. In the book, the room number was 217, but it is widely believed that Kubrick changed it to 237 as the distance between the Earth and the moon is roughly 237,000 miles.

Jack’s writing

Jack’s writing is proof of his slipping consciousness, but this is believed to be a hint at Appollo 11. In a pine-chilling scene, the audience, along with Jack’s wife, discovers that all his writing comprises of one sentence written over and over again – ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. While it’s kind of a long shot, theorists believe that the ‘All’ actually signifies ‘A11’ i.e. Apollo 11.

Doubt of the authenticity of the moon landing started as soon as America announced its success. This was also a big win for them, as USSR was winning the space race during the Cold War. John F Kennedy had announced in 1962 that they would put a man on the moon before the end of the decade; and many see this as a strategy for saving face in the space war.

With the 1977 film Capricorn One, the theory got more steam as the plot of the film revolved around the government deceiving the American public into believing that they had landed a manned mission on Mars.

There are plenty of theories that point to the fact that Kubrick confessed through The Shining that he was indeed involved in the big government hoax.

Another interesting fact is from Arthur C. Clarke. In a prologue to 2001 written years later, Clark describes the scene when Kubrick approached him and asked him to write a space story. A reading of this prologue seems to suggest Kubrick was being asked to help prepare the minds of the public, and that this request came from someone of great authority.

Wikacy Reels App

March 8, 2022 in Development Articles

Create an Instagram-styled reels progressive web app with React and Firebase-Firestore Database

Check out what we will be building at this demo!

Step One: Sign up for Firebase

Firebase is an awesome database-as-a-service provided by Google and a great choice for developers just starting off. Everything from static hosting, authentication of users, file uploads, and real-time data synchronization is packaged together in convenient SDKs. If you don’t already have a Firebase account, you can sign up at

Once you sign up, navigate to your console and create a new project. Once your project spins up, create a new web app and name it anything you want. For the purposes of this tutorial, we have named our app “wikacy-reels.” Be sure to include Firebase Hosting when prompted, and create a new site for your app. You can name your site anything you want. I will show you how to configure your app to deploy to the site you set up later.

Step Two: Download or clone the source code for our app from Github.

The source code for this app is in our Github Repository here:

You can either download the .zip file from the repository, or use git clone from your command line

git clone

Step Three: Add your firebase configuration.

In your Firebase console, navigate to your newly created web app and click the gear icon to go to the settings for your app. Scroll down the page to where you see your integration credentials. Click on the “config” radio button and copy your configurations. It will look like this:

// For Firebase JS SDK v7.20.0 and later, measurementId is optional
const firebaseConfig = {
  apiKey: "your-api-key",
  authDomain: "your-auth-domain",
  databaseURL: "your-database-url",
  projectId: "your-project-id",
  storageBucket: "your-storage-bucket",
  messagingSenderId: "your-message-sender-id",
  appId: "your-app-id",
  measurementId: "your-measurement-id"

Open your favorite code editor and open the folder containing the source code cloned from our repository. You can use any editor you like. I use VSCode.

In the SRC folder, open the firebase.js file. It should look like this:

import firebase from "firebase";

const firebaseConfig = {
  apiKey: "your-firebase-api-key",
  authDomain: "your-firebase-auth-domain",
  databaseURL: "your-firebase-database-url",
  projectId: "your-firebase-project",
  storageBucket: "your-firebase-storage-bucket",
  messagingSenderId: "your-message-sender-id",
  appId: "your-app-id",
  measurementId: "your-measurement-id"

const firebaseApp = firebase.initializeApp(firebaseConfig);
const db = firebaseApp.firestore();

export default db;

Replace the above placeholders with your own credentials from your Firebase Console.

Step Four: Set up your Firestore Database and add data

In your Firebase console, click on “Cloud Firestore” in the side drawer and then click on “get started” to set up your Firestore noSQL database. When prompted, select to start in production mode, then navigate to your rules and change “false” to “true” or just paste the below code within the area they provide for your database rules.

rules_version = '2';
service cloud.firestore {
  match /databases/{database}/documents {
    match /{document=**} {
      allow read, write: if true;

Later on, I will demonstrate how we can change the rules to only allow logged-in users to view or to write data, but for now, we will start with the above rules, which allows anyone to view the public data.

Next you will want to add some reels so that when you run the app, we will see some videos. We have structured the data for the reels like this:

"reels " :

    id: "some-random-id"

       "avatarSrc" : "url to a user's avatar",
       "channel" : "username or channel",
       "likes" : "number-of-likes",
       "shares" : "number-of-shares",
       "song" : "name-of-song-in-video",
       "url" : "url-for-the-video"

You will have to start by creating a new collection in your Firestore database with the title “reels,” then click to add a new document. For the id, click to generate an auto id, which will be a unique string to serve as an identifier for each document in the collection. Add a value for each of the fields above, the most important being the url to a video.

In the next part we will create an interface for users to login and upload reels. But for now, lets get the basic interface for playing the reels together.

Step 5: Spin up your development server.

If you do not already have node.js installed on your machine, be sure to install it here:

Navigate to the root of your project directory and open a command prompt window. Enter the below command and hit enter:

npm install

The above command will create a new folder in your root project directory named node_modules and will install all the dependencies for the app. Once the dependencies are installed, run the following command to spin up a local development server:

npm start

A development server will host your app locally on port 3000. A browser window should automatically open to your app. It may take a minute, but once finished you will be able to see your videos. Try adding three or four more videos and data so you can scroll through the videos just like you would on Tik Tok or Instagram.

In the next step I will show you how to customize your app, change the images and icons to your custom brand, and deploy to Firebase Hosting.

You can view a demo of this app here:

Over the next few days, we will be adding user sign-up, video uploads, and an interface for trimming videos and adding effects using the React-Spring Bottom Sheet library and Cloudinary media transformations.

The Knight Called Lancelot

March 7, 2022 in Fantasy Novel

Queen Vokatis and Carmel Golden Doodle were three days journey into the Forgotten Forest, when they came upon a young Knight bearing a cross upon his shoulder.

Carmel, being the curious dog she is, greeted the young man and asked, “Why do you carry that heavy cross upon your shoulders? Isn’t it heavy and burdensome to your journey?

The young knight smiled at Carmel and the Queen, then lifted the cross, set it down, and breathed a great sigh of relief.

“Whhffeeeew,” said the young knight. Now may I, at last, relieve my shoulder of this burden! For I am Lancelot, deputy to the Great King Arthur and student of Merlin, and I have been quested with this journey by the Court of the Knights of the Round Table, commissioned by Merlin himself and presided over by the King, to carry this cross and to not set it down from mine breast until mine eyes have laid upon the long-promised Warrior of the Golden Orn. And thou art she.”

Carmel and the Queen looked confused upon one another with buffleheads, and the Queen said unto the young knight, “What is this ‘Golden Orn,’ of which ye speak?”

“Ahhh!” said the young knight, who’s name was indeed Lancelot, (for behold is this quest not mentioned by Mallorie when he spoke of the quest for the Holy Grail). “YOU ART the ‘Golden Orn,” said the knight. “And I am to take you to meet the great Merlin, who shall help thee with this, thine quest, which is a quest for all free people – the Quest of the Lost Children.”

Thus Carmel and Queen Vokatis were escorted by the young knight called ‘Lancelot’ to the Court of the Knights of the Round Table, that ancient Camelot, the seat of the Once and Future King, Arthur and his worthy knights, to gain favor of the King, council from the Wizard, and guidance from the ancient lore to aid them on their quest for the lost children.

Stay tuned for the next episode!
